Oceanology International 2010Oceanology International is a biennial event and the world’s largest meeting place for the marine science and technology community. Attended by a global community of engineers, scientists, legislators, policy makers and management professionals with responsibility across all of the ocean science and marine technology spectrum, the 2008 event hosted over 500 suppliers of products and services from around the world and was attended by over 6600 delegates from 89 countries. The conference features an extensive technical programme showcasing the latest technical developments and thinking in the marine science and ocean technology world.

Plymouth Marine Sciences Partnership (PMSP) has had a major presence at Oceanology International in recent years fostering new relationships and publicizing some of the world class research and innovation being carried out within the partnership in the fields of Climate Change, Renewable Energy and the Environment, and Health and Civil Security. In 2008, the PMSP stand also featured the Wave Hub project and the Peninsula Research Institute for Marine Renewable Energy (PRIMaRE), highlighting leading expertise within the South West region.

In 2010, in addition to its stand, presentations and exhibits, PMSP will partner with the Enterprise Europe Network to provide an International Brokerage Event for professionals within the marine community. Aimed at decision makers, scientists and managers from the marine science and ocean technology sectors, the event aims to provide an effective forum to initiate or develop business or research partnerships. The event will provide a unique opportunity for companies and research organisations to forge new collaborations and partnerships.
